You will need to grab any 8.9 inch screen touch panel from EBay and then connect it to Dell Mini 9 using one of the external USB ports. Mini pci-e pins also can be used, but that is a bit tricky.

Dell seems to be crazy about painting their laptops all over. First they gave some artistic touch to their notebooks, now they are getting to netbooks. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 and 12 got painted at least in 4 variations.

Seems like inside the netbooks nothing changed. Be ready to pay $50 extra for the paint though, $349 for Mini 9 and $549 for Mini 12.

Land of the Rising Sun (Japan, in case you wonder) will enjoy red Dell Inspiron Mini 9 starting from tomorrow. Red version is added to black and white versions of Mini 9. This is so called Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Platinum Package which also comes with flash-drive upgraded to 32GB and is priced at ¥54,980 (about $570).

Dell is offering its first netbook Dell Mini 9 for less than $300 on Black Friday. Do not hope to see the high-end model for such a price. Most likely it will be Mini 9 with 8GB SSD, 512MB RAM, and Ubuntu. Today this kind of configuration costs about $350. So it will be a nice $50 saving.
